Welcome to www.laurenboden.com
It really means a lot to know you have taken the time to visit my website, so I sincerely say thank you for your support.
This website is designed to give my fans a point of contact for all things Lauren Boden. You will be able to track my movements, check results, watch videos of my races and most importantly read my thoughts, feelings and experiences during my many adventures throughout the world.
I look forward to sharing my journey with you and encourage you to come back and visit regularly. The website is just in it’s infancy stages so there is going to be lots happening in the next few months.
Enjoy and take care
As per my last post, about being the ACT’s Walk Safely to School Day Ambassador, and also being selected to represent Australia at the World Championships in Moscow, Russia Aug 10-18, I have been receiving some media attention in Canberra recently. To check it all out head to my ’2013 Media’ page and enjoy what you see and read!
It gives me great pleasure to announce that I am the official ambassador for the ACT’s Walk Safely to School Day, which is taking place at St. Bede’s Primary School, Red Hill on Friday May 24th. It is very exciting and humbling to have been chosen as the sole ambassador; I feel like I am a worthy choice though as I used to walk to primary school when I was younger!
Walk Safely to School Day is endorsed by the Pedestrian Council of Australia and encourages all children, Australia-wide, to walk and commute safely to school on Friday May 24th. Here are just some of the benefits of walking to school:
- it is a healthy way to start the day, creating regular walking habits from an early age
- ensuring children are aware of the correct road-crossing skills
- reduce car dependency that can be created at an early age
- promotion of public transport
- reduce the level of air pollution and traffic congestion created by cars
It is a great initiative and I would strongly encourage all schools to get involved! For more information, check out www.walk.com.au and remember -
ACTIVE KIDS ARE HEALTHY KIDS!!
Tonight I return to the track where I will be competing in the Women’s 400m Hurdles as part of the Qantas Melbourne World Challenge Meet at 630pm Albert Park.
Training has been going well and I am excited to see what I can run tonight as I prepare for the World Championship Selection Trials next week in Sydney.

As my title would suggest… I’m BACK! I’m sorry it has been so long but I haven’t had much to report! For a full run down on what I have been up to, please check out my ’2013 Blog’ page. As my 2013 season has just started I will be posting footage and race analysis as well as general updates on my website much more regularly!
I hope you enjoy what you read and see and can continue on my amazing athletics journey with me!
Well the time has almost arrived for me to make my Olympic debut, which is happening at 19.08 tonight (4.08 AEST Aug 6th). I have drawn lane 1 in heat 2, where the progression through to the semi finals will be the first 4 in each heat plus the next 4 fastest on times, into semi’s of 8 people.
I cannot wait to get out into that incredible stadium, soak up the atmosphere and just give it everything I’ve got against the best in the world!

On Saturday July 21st I ran in the 400H at Szczecin, Poland where I finished 5th in 56.69. Although I finished 5th and my time was not as fast as I had hoped, I took the race out quite fast, set it up positively and was with the leaders coming into the final 100m. Unfortunately a stride pattern error cost me some time and I was unable to reaccelerate after that but there was some very encouraging signs to take from it..
To watch the race please click here… or you can also see it on my ’2012 races’ page.
That is all in terms of races from me now, until my 400H Heat at the Olympic Games on Aug 5th!
